In a joint statement the building experts have conveyed condolences to the latest building which collapsed in south c killing two security guards a disaster which could have been evaded if due process was followed.
Speaking to journalist in Nairobo the experts have called on all actors to adhere to the rules and take responsibility where members fail in design and supervision must be held to account from planning and design, approval, inspection and enforcement and use of counterfeit building materials.
over 200 buildings have collapsed since 1996 and no investigations and findings which have been made public.lessons learned must be incorporated in the industry to help avoid such tragedy in future.Failure to make people take responsibility makes the culture of impunity continue,poor governance and political interference, involvement of quacks deregistration of those found guilty and sanctioning will restore safety and integrity in the industry.
